Penalties and Infringements

If you are caught exceeding the speed limit, you'll have to pay a fine or go to court, and you'll incur demerit points. If you accumulate too many demerit points, you will lose your licence. The number of demerit points range from 1 to 6 depending on the seriousness of the offence. They accumulate and remain valid for 3 years. Visit Transport Services for more information on demerit points.
